In 1964, Raymond Lutgert was one of the founding fathers of Naples. A true visionary, he created Park Shore and Park Shore Beach, two of the most prestigious communities in all of Florida. Some forty years after he first walked the sands that would become Park Shore Beach, seventeen glimmering towers stand as evidence of the Lutgert Legacy- a legacy that transformed Naples into the world-class destination it is today.

Barron Gift Collier, Sr., founder of The Barron Collier Companies, visited Southwest Florida in 1911 and was mesmerized by its beauty. During the 1920's, he purchased 1.3 million acres of land that became Collier and Hendry Counties. His first challenge in the development of his newly acquired land was the construction of the Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41), which provides the link from Tampa to Miami and made the development of Southwest Florida possible. Today, the Collier family continues to be one of Southwest Florida's most diligent stewards and most responsive developers.
